Steam on a phone is not a gaming platform in your pocket, but rather a remote control for those who spend most of their time on a PC. And in this role, the app handles the caveats.

The main and most useful feature is Steam Guard. Two-factor authentication via phone, one-click login confirmation, QR code login instead of password. To protect an account with thousands of rubles in the library, this is not an option, but a necessity. The app is really indispensable here.

Next is the trading platform and trades. It's convenient to confirm item exchanges and sales on the market directly from your phone: you don't have to use your computer for a single click. Other useful features include remote launch of downloads on a PC, a personal library news feed, store browsing, a wishlist, inventory, and discount notifications. Multiple accounts are supported simultaneously.

But there is a downside. For some reason, Valve moved the chat to a separate Steam Chat application - now you need to switch to communicate with friends. The interface works slowly even on a good connection, the back button periodically behaves unpredictably, and the keyboard sometimes freezes on top of the screen. Several users have encountered a serious problem: it becomes extremely difficult to restore access to their account when logging out of their PC and phone at the same time.

It works as a security guard and a control panel. As a full-fledged mobile application, it falls short.

Features:

  • Steam Guard — two-factor authentication and QR code login.
  • Confirmation of trades and sales on the trading platform.
  • Remote launch and management of downloads on a PC.
  • A news feed based on a personal library.
  • Notifications about discounts on games from the wishlist.
  • Support for multiple accounts in one application.
  • The chat has been moved to a separate Steam Chat application.
  • Slow interface and bugs with navigation based on user reviews.
