The house has no windows. Five nights. A creature that doesn't sleep. It sounds like the beginning of a good horror movie, and in a way it is. Obelisk takes the "I made a new friend" video paste, packs it into a mobile format, and adds VHS interference on top of each frame. The genre of analog horror on a phone is a rarity, and for that alone, the game deserves attention.

The mechanics are built around the inability to resist. An obelisk is a creature that roams the corridors of a house, it cannot be defeated, deceived or stopped. The only thing left is to hide in time and not breathe. The closet, the space under the bed, the shadow behind the furniture — everything is in motion. In parallel, you need to complete tasks and solve puzzles, which become more difficult every night, and the Obelisk itself becomes faster and more unpredictable. Ent is going piece by piece: notes, videotapes, interior details — all these are parts of one dark story, which is interesting to put together.

Visually, the developer from CapyCapy Studio did his best: a grainy picture, sound distortion at the right moments, and an alarming void between events. For a small indie team, the level of atmosphere is pleasantly surprising.

Advertising spoils all this — methodically and without hesitation. Three pop—up windows even before the game starts, banners inside, and most importantly, a bug where closing ads freezes the app and rolls back the night's progress to zero. The horror is interrupted not by a monster, but by a video.

Features:

  • Analog horror with VHS aesthetics - grain, interference, sound distortion.
  • The plot is based on a kripipasta with its own branched ent.
  • Five nights with increasing complexity and behavior of the Obelisk.
  • Stealth without fighting — hide-and-seek as the only survival strategy.
  • Lore is scattered across notes and cassettes — for those who like to dig.
  • Three advertising windows before the first game screen.
  • Ads inside can freeze the game and reset the progress of the night.
